Officers responded to reports of a person with a gun in the 4600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard at 3:11 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, the Philadelphia Police Department said.
When they arrived, officers found that the man was shot in the right shoulder by a Home Depot security guard, according to police.
The man was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and placed in stable condition, police said. The security guard was taken to Frankford Hospital for undisclosed injuries and was eventually released.
A gun and pepper spray were recovered at the scene, according to police.
The wounded man is being held as a prisoner, police said.
